Your Child Care Subsidy rate and the gap fee you pay, from your family income, days in care and the daily fee.

Common questions

How much Child Care Subsidy will I get?

Families earning up to $88,520 a year get 90% of the fee, up to an hourly cap. Above that, the rate drops 1% for every $5,000 of income, to nothing at $538,520 (2026–27).

What is the 3 Day Guarantee?

Since January 2026 every family gets at least 72 subsidised hours a fortnight for each child, whatever their work or study hours. Families where each parent does more than 48 hours of work, study or volunteering a fortnight get 100 hours.

What is the hourly rate cap?

The most the subsidy is worked out on: $15.19 an hour for centre-based day care before school (2026–27). If your centre charges more, you pay the difference in full.
